Feedback Thoughts
Hey there,
Today we will be talking about feedback for learning in life
and in your workspace also how both positive and negative feedback works for
you learn and improve. Here are my general thoughts on feedback. I think that feedback in general is a good thing
both positive and negative, the reason being is that if you firstly don’t get
praised for all the time and effort that you put in, what’s the point in doing
it at all, you’ll eventually get lost on what the right and wrong thing is and
also become unmotivated, so having positive feedback gives you that motivation
to keep going. At the same time negative feedback is also good for learning. If
we do not have negative feedback, we would not know what to improve on when we
make mistakes. You should look at negative feedback as a way for you to learn
and improve on what needs improving. So never take negative feedback in the
wrong way. Now I read two different articles both based on getting rid of self-doubt
and critical voices in your head. The reason as to why I chose these two is because
I think they can both relate to everyone in some way. Here is the links to
them:
For the first article on critical voices in your head I thought
that this is a great way of giving information out to people to discover ways
in getting rid of negative thoughts and turning them into positive ones. This can
really benefit you when your get some negative constructive feedback in form
lets say your work because, some people may see these negative feedbacks as an
attack on their person, but this article can help with all that negativity and
looking at it positively then turning it into a learning curve. This article can
help in many ways though not just in negative and positive feedback, it can
work in life in general all aspects of your life from sport to education to
your hobbies, the list that the give about getting pushing past the negative
side of things could really benefit everyone and is 100% worth the read if you have
10-15 minutes spare. For me I will probably use some of these techniques in my
life, although I wouldn’t really have problems with critical voices in my head
for education, but sometimes even in my training for Boxing/MMA I would beat
myself up about it not going my way, so using this article could really help
with pushing past all the negativity that I would have.
For the second article on seven ways to crush self-doubt, I thought
this was a really good way for you to overcome and learn different ways for you
to tackle your own self-doubt. The ways that they give could be useful for your
own life in all aspects. Self-doubt is a major topic in today’s world and a lot
of people let it overcome them which is not good because it worsens people’s mental
health and overall wellbeing. The topics that they give in the article can also help you with
positive and negative feedback. A lot of people when they get negative feedback can't handle it then letting it overcome them and self-doubt rushes in. With this article
you could utilize the points that they
give to almost keep a strong barrier up so whatever people say it doesn’t affect
your mind and you can use the feedback again as a learning curve to embed it
into your own work. Once more, this would be very helpful in my own training
practices in MMA/Boxing because there can be a lot of my teammates, mangers and
even myself critiquing my own performance and sometimes that would get to my
head, but now knowing this information form this article I can use this in also
creating this barrier, treating my self in the way I need to and this won’t
really effect my mental health as much which will make me more self-confident. Again for feedback on lets say your college work you should not get offended or worried about the negative feedback and letting it overcome you but instead let it motivate you to do better.
That is the two articles that I read and my thoughts on each,
I really hope you could give them a read if not already done so, they really
will benefit your live overall.
Hope you enjoyed reading and see you next time!!
